I am a Professor of Creative Writing and Literary Studies in the Creative Writing & Publishing program at Sheridan College. I write fiction, poetry, and academic articles about early Canadian women writers, and diversity in CanLit. Reading, writing, hockey, and kid-wrangling are all in my wheelhouse. I love the idea of connecting through story. We have so much to learn from one another.

I’ve been a professor at Sheridan since 2014, and I teach in the Creative Writing & Publishing degree. My own work includes drama, film, and prose fiction. Everybody’s Got a Story has provided a wonderful opportunity to supervise brilliant student writers and to hear about the range of experiences that intersect at Sheridan.  

I am an associate dean in the Faculty of Animation Arts and Design.  I bring experiences as a researcher, professor, student affairs professional, and post-secondary administrator to this project. Diverse voices are important, and I hope that the stories shared here will resonate with readers.

Hello! My name is Hazel Mekkattukulam and I’m a third-year student in Sheridan’s Creative Writing & Publishing Program. I was offered the privilege of being a part of the Everybody’s Got A Story research project as a research assistant. Interviewing members of the Sheridan community and getting the opportunity to write up their stories has been such a rewarding experience, and I’m grateful for the chance to interact with such a diverse group of people.

I’m an emerging writer with a particular interest in non-fiction. I am currently pursuing an Honours Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing and Publishing at Sheridan College. I'm also a contributing writer for Caribbean Collective Magazine. With three print publications under my belt as well, I’m looking forward to whatever's next.

I’m a third-year student in Sheridan’s Creative Writing & Publishing program. I can often be found in my big yellow reading chair, drinking coffee and accidentally inventing worlds for fantasy and sci-fi stories, or planning out my next D&D campaign. I'm currently living in Mississauga with my three fantastic roommates and a plant I've managed to keep alive much longer than anticipated

I am currently a third-year student in the Honours Bachelor of Photography Program at Sheridan College. My primary photographic interests are documentary and portraiture, where I focus on clean and dynamic composition with an emphasis on photographic clarity. Every individual has a story, and I am grateful to have played a role in the visual representation of these stories!

I am a curious and passionate Interaction Designer. Through empathy and a deep understanding of the user's pain points, I strive to create meaningful, enjoyable, and intuitive solutions. I love good visual communication and I like creating original illustrations for each of my projects. I am also a language aficionado and aspiring polyglot.
